From Tanzania

Coming up on Gaga Radio is an extra special show recorded in Tanzania. Broadcasting on April 12th, International Day for Street Children, the show will feature interviews and songs made by members of Feathers Tale children’s village and Angels Gate home for street-involved boys.

Located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro In Northern Tanzania. ‘Feathers Tale’ is a group of children’s villages and children’s homes that include ‘Angels Gate’. The homes and villages are operated by ‘Share Tanzania’, a charitable organisation whose mission is to ensure children in crisis in the region find a safe and loving home. Their work has long been supported by the dance music charity, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ), who, amongst other things have provided music equipment and training through their Get Equipped programme.

These are organisations very close to our hearts here at GagaRadio. Our station manager Jim McNulty has been working closely with LNADJ since its beginnings many years ago and has had direct involvement with Share Tanzania on a number of projects, watching it bloom and grow as a result.

The uplifting stories and incredible music are a testament to the successful work being done at Angels Gate and Feathers Tale .. These communities have blossomed from humble beginnings eight years ago, transforming many many lives as a result – not least those of Pamela, Isaya and Hussein – three guests on the show.
