We (I, my wife, and my two kids) went to Puncak last weekend because my wife had to organize a birthday party at a nearby villa, and we had to stay overnight. Actually, we stayed at another hotel on the night of the event, and it was billed to the event organizer’s account. Reluctant to return to the city on Sunday as usually the road will be jam-packed with traveller’s cars wrapping up their weekend getaway, we decided to spend another night at the area. As we have to pay from our own pocket this time, I was looking for a more affordable alternative and found this place. Through Tripadvisor, I got the lowest rate for this property. And with that rate, for me, this hotel is the most bang-for-the-buck. Why? Let me tell you so. Ariandri hotel is located in Tugu area (upper Cisarua), so the temperature is cooler than other hotels in lower altitude area. The super-deluxe type of room that we stayed in, is completed with a fridge, tea/coffee maker, large bed, hot shower, and air conditioner. An extra bed is really affordable, and a range of room service is available at a low price. The view is overlooking the same scenery as that of the other expensive 4-star rated hotel nearby. However, don’t expect too much from hotels in the Puncak area. Wifi is almost non-existent. TV reception is poor. The swimming pool is small. The restaurant is under renovation at the time of our visit, so better service and better building are supposedly on their way. The phone line was troubled, but they were busy fixing it. To request for any service, guests are given a cell number for messaging through Whatsapp. Breakfasts were served ala carte and delivered to the room, and choices of fried rice or fried mee hoon are on offer. It comes with slices of fruit, hot tea, and a glass of fresh juice. All staffs are helpful and performed very well. For the price I paid, I don’t think I can complain, and I’m very satisfied with my stay at this hotel.

For a modest admission of IDR 15,000,- per person this place offers so much.
We visited on a long weekend, so understandably the place is rather crowded. However there were more than enough parking spaces. We decided drive past the tea plant and park at the back. A short walk from the parking lot, there was a small, rocky stream. The water was cool and clear. The kids absolutely loved it.
From there we took another short walk to the tea plantation. It was absolutely gorgeous. Meandering hills of tea plants with a mountain in the background. Clean air, beautiful sceneries…what more could you want?
Once we’re done exploring the tea plantation, we drove further back to picnic area where the kids took horse rides through through the shrubbery (IDR 35,000.-) or ride mini motorcycles. There were also stalls selling food and souvenirs.
Apparently you can have guided tours with three tracks to choose from. But we left it for another time.
Will definitely come back.
